From our room, we look out on Hanalei Bay. It must be quite
shallow as the waves start to break several hundred meters or yards out from
shore and roll uniformly in.
At a glance, Kauai is less developed than Maui. We noticed a
simpler road infrastructure, though easily managed to find a good grocery store
yesterday in our travels around the east coast.
We've got a few great hikes planned, the top two being the
Napali coast which is not far from here, and the Waimea Canyon, a couple of
hours drive away. The snorkelling prospects look good, and if I can get the
stars to align, I'd love to take a surfing lesson.
We only have 6 days on Kauai, and from our experience last
week, that's not long enough to feel, taste and see the entire Island, but
we're going to do our best.
